Nipaguard SCE

Nipaguard SCE is a broad spectrum antimicrobial agent comprising a synergistic blend of Benzoic Acid in Sorbitan Caprylate and Propanediol.  Nipaguard SCE is designed for preservation of a wide range of cosmetics and toiletries.  This blend is part of Clariant EcoTain range and is Cosmos and Natrue certified which makes it ideal for preservation of natural cosmetic products.  

Formulating Guidelines:
-Nipaguard SCE is mostly water soluble and is excellent for use in shampoo and body wash and skin care creams and lotions.
- Nipaguard SCE is not heat sensitive but we recommend it be added during POST-emulsification at or below 37.7°C (100°F).
- Nipaguard SCE is a broad-spectrum preservative system that is active against bacteria, yeast and molds that performs best at pH 4-5 but can retain performance up to approximately pH 6.5.
- Nipaguard SCE recommended usage is 0.5%-1.5%.  In the US there are no restrictions as it is designated "safe as used".
