Bergamot Conditioning Shower Gel

This gentle and high foaming shower gel is good for all skin types. Plantapon, Cocamidopropyl Betaine and SMC Taurate provide good cleansing and foaming without stripping natural oils from skin. Used at a low percentage, GuarSilk provides just enough conditioning and adds viscosity to this formula. Raspberry Dimethicone WS offers emolliency and helps to solubilize essential and fragrance oils. PEG 150 Distearate adds viscosity.

Ingredient Part A Distilled Water GuarSilk Part B Plantapon Cocomidopropyl Betaine SMC Taurate PEG 150 Distearate Part C Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein Raspberry Dimethicone WS Bergamot Essential Oil Optiphen ND Total

Amount 57.9% = 289.5 grams 0.3% = 1.5 grams 10.0% = 50 grams 10.0% = 50 grams 15.0% = 75 grams 1.0% = 5 grams 2.0% = 10 grams 2.0% = 10 grams 1.0% = 5 grams 0.8% = 4 grams 100.0% = 500 grams

1) In Part A: Add GuarSilk to room temperature distilled water and blend/mix well. Hydrate for at least 10 minutes stirring periodically. Set aside.

2) In Part B: Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel pot and heat until PEG 150 Distearate is completely melted. Stir constantly over low heat -- do not scorch.

3) In Part A: When GuarSilk is completely hydrated (about 15 minutes), heat to approximately 165F. Remove from heat. Add 1/2 combined Part B and cool down while stirring.

4) In Part C: When combined PartA/B is 120F/49C or less, add Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and set aside. Pre-mix Raspberry Dimethicone WS, Optiphen ND and Bergamot Essential Oil. Add a small amount of shampoo mixture to Raspberry Dimethicone WS/Bergamot Essential Oil mixture. Then add back to shampoo mixture with gentle mixing. Add remaining ½ from Part B to shampoo mixture with gentle mixing. Package.

Notes:
-We recommend using a hot plate or electric stove top – we do not recommend using a microwave.
-Viscosity may need to be adjusted for finished product. To increase viscosity, add 0.5% PEG 150 Distearate. To decrease viscosity, add glycerin, high HLB emulsifier such as Polysorbate 20, or water.
