Versene NA Crystals (Disodium EDTA) is a useful chelating agent for lotions, creams, shampoos, and other personal care products that require a neutral to slightly acidic pH. Chelating agents are important components in cosmetic and toiletry preservation systems. Chelating agents enhance antimicrobial activity by complexing with metal ions found in the cell walls of microbes. This allows the preservative to perform more effectively.
