Soy Lecithin NOP Organic Certified is made from soybeans certified organic under USDA NOP which requires farmers to use non-GMO seed. Our Soy Lecithin NOP Organic Certified is produced using pure methods of extraction. No solvents, genetic engeering or irradiation are used in production.
Soy Lecithin NOP Organic Certified is a natural mixture of triglycerides, phospholipids, and glycolipids with a small amount of carbohydrates. Phospholipids are the primary components of Soy Lecithin and are responsible for both skin care benefits and the unique surface-active properties that enable the Lecithins to be used as emulsifiers.
Our Soy Lecithin NOP Organic Certified has an HLB of 7 and can be used to create oil in water emulsions. It can be used as the only emulsifier, but will often be unstable. Stability can be increased when it is used with other co-emulsifiers. We’ve created stable emulsions using 1-2% Soy Lecithin NOP Organic Certified with 2-3% Plantamulse Liquid.
Other possible emulsifier combinations include: 1-2% Soy Lecithin NOP Organic Certified with 1-3% PlantaEm or 1-2% Soy Lecithin NOP Organic Certified with 2% Sodium Behenoyl Lactylate. Rheology modifiers such as Cetearyl Alcohol (1-4%) will enhance stability and build viscosity in emulsions.
