ProLipid™ 141 lamellar gel system is a blend of ingredients that have been well researched and are globally-approved. The components in ProLipid™ 141 have been evaluated for safety by expert committees worldwide and found to be safe across a broad range of personal care applications and use concentrations. ProLipid™ 141 has superb moisturizing characteristics and has been documented to be non-irritating and non-sensitizing.
Formulation Guidelines:
• We recommend the use of a high shear mixer (or stick blender) or homogenizer to create emulsions with ProLipid 141 as this will optimize (reduce) the size of the droplets.
• Utilizing water soluble polymers, such as HEC at 0.5%, or XanThix at 0.2% will help to thicken and stabilize the water phase of the emulsion.
• There may be incompatibilities with silicones. We recommend using less than 0.5% silicones
Prolipid 141 is recommended for all creams and lotions. It is particularly recommended as an excellent vehicle for the delivery of actives such as sunscreens and anti-aging ingredients.
Recommended Usage: 3.0% - 5% for most emulsions
