Kim's Silky Soft Shampoo

This gentle gel shampoo is excellent for all hair types. SMC Taurate, Plantapon, and our Baby Blend Concentrate provide good cleansing and foaming without stripping natural oils from hair. Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and dl panthenol strengthen and smooth the hair shaft. Used at a low percentage, GuarSilk provides just enough conditioning and adds viscosity to this formula. Raspberry Dimethicone WS helps to solubilize essential and fragrance oils, improves wet-combing and adds shine to hair. PEG 150 Distearate adds viscosity.

Ingredient Part A SMC Taurate Baby Blend Concentrate (BBC) Plantapon PEG 150 Distearate Part B Distilled Water GuarSilk Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein DL Panthenol Glycerin Part C Raspberry Dimethicone WS Eo/Fo Liquid Germall Plus Total

Amount 25% = 125 grams 15% = 75 grams 5.0% = 25 grams 1.7% = 8.5 grams 42.8% = 214 grams 0.2% = 1 gram 2.0% = 10 grams 3.0% = 15 grams 2.0% = 10 grams 2.0% = 10 grams 1.0% = 5 grams 0.3% = 1.5 grams 100.0% = 500 grams

1) Add GuarSilk to room temperature distilled water and blend/mix well. Hydrate for at least 10 minutes stirring periodically. Set aside.
2) In Part A – combine all ingredients and heat until PEG 150 Distearate has completely melted. (approximately 175F). Set aside.
3) When GuarSilk is completely hydrated (about 15-20 minutes), combine with Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and dl panthenol. Slowly add to (previously heated/melted) Part A while stirring. Cool down while stirring.
4) Combine Raspberry Dimethicone WS and eo/fo in a separate container. Add a small amount of finished shampoo to this mixture. Then add mixture back to finished shampoo with gentle mixing. Add Liquid Germall Plus at 120F or less.

Notes:
--Fragrance Oils and Essential Oils can have a dramatic effect on surfactant based systems. Small percentages are recommended (1% or less) They should be added carefully to a small portion of the shampoo or body wash before adding to the whole batch. AquaEm, CocoEM WS, Raspberry Dimethicone WS are good solubilizers and provide water soluble emolliency.
--Viscosity can vary from batch to batch. If greater viscosity is desired, increase the PEG 150 Distearate to 2%. If less viscosity is desired, decrease the PEG 150 Distearate to 0.5%-1.0%.
--For bigger bubbles/more foaming, substitute Cocamidopropyl Betaine for the BBC.
